The team demonstrated Nanite and Lumen rendering, a 46GB city playable after downloading just 3% of its assets, and multiplayer servers running in WebAssembly. The platform also introduces Strata, an AI agent that can build, playtest and deploy games, plus GameTS for writing Unreal gameplay in TypeScript. The company says the approach could eliminate cloud GPU costs while making high-end games instantly accessible through a link.

GameMaker has announced that its next-generation runtime, GMRT, will become free for commercial use starting January 1, 2027. Developers will be able to build and sell games on Windows, macOS, Linux, mobile and web without purchasing a Professional license, while source code access will be available across all tiers. Console exports will still require an Enterprise license and platform approval, and the existing GMS2 runtime's commercial licensing rules remain separate.
